Detangling dolls hair can be time-consuming and possibly damage the dolls hair but this recipe can help to avoid that. My daughter has a ridiculous amount of dolls and most don’t take too long but her Rapunzel doll is a lot harder to tackle, by the end my arm is usually aching. This mixture helps to untangle the dolls hair without having to damage it, it’s also a lot easier on my arm too. The look on my daughters face is incredible when she sees her doll back to the way she first was.
You will need a spray bottle, comb/brush, fabric softener and some water.
The Tangled Mess
Put 50/50 mix of fabric softener and water in the spray bottle.
Soak the hair with the mixture.
Gently comb/brush the hair to remove the tangles and knots. Remember to work from the bottom of the hair up.
Rinse the dolls hair in water until the fabric softener is removed then let it dry. It does take a bit of elbow grease but the results are awesome.
I hope this technique helps you to revive your children’s dolls, so you can avoid having to replace them.
I’ve used this on all my daughter’s dolls and on her soft toys with long hair. It makes it so much easier to detangle their hair and it also helps to keep them soft and smelling fresh too.
